The garden occupies part of an old quarry as well as part of the site where the Arad Mill once stood. The Afon Arad flows through the length of the garden, there are three bridges crossing the river as well as the remnants of two original dams. The very rocky and steep garden is about an acre, made up of woodland and terraced areas on both sides of the river. The garden has been a particularly challenging area to safely work in and successfully plant.
